Gain the essential skills and knowledge to be a horticulturist. Become a leader in the stone fruit, pip fruit, berry or wine grape industries.

We've put sustainable growing principles and practices at the core of this study pathway. You'll use the campus nursery, the hydroponics unit, and the ten-hectare Otago Polytechnic crop production facility where we grow wine grapes, stone fruit, pip fruit, olives, flowers and berries. You'll develop real-world skills and forge important industry relationships through professional work experience in Central Otago's extensive horticulture industry. 

Graduates of this international study pathway will receive the: 

  1. New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture (Level 3) (Nursery Production)
  2. New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture Production (Level 4) (Fruit Production) and
  3. New Zealand Diploma in Horticulture Production (Level 5) (Fruit Production).

Please note: The Level 4 certificate will display when you apply and will be the focus of any enrolment information. The Level 5 diploma will be added separately. You need to successfully complete each level to move to the next.
