The Growsafe course is unit standard-based. One assessment must be passed to gain the qualification and you also need to complete the course workbook.

PART 1 - Lecture

The lecture will focus your studies on areas relating to the use of the Growsafe manual. You will learn how to use the Growsafe manual to find relevant information and make appropriate decisions relating to agrichemicals.

PART 2 - Complete the Growsafe workbook

On successful completion of parts 1 & 2 you will gain NZQA unit standards 21563 - Demonstrate knowledge of HSNO & NZS8409:2004 for the use of agrichemicals, and 27215 - Prepare to apply and apply agrichemicals using handheld equipment, and receive the Introductory Growsafe Certificate.

If you wish to gain an Approved Handler Certificate please discuss your requirements with your tutor.
